DENIS JACKSON WADE

Denis Jackson-Wade is a dedicated yoga teacher, wellness facilitator, and advocate for accessible, compassionate movement practices. He discovered yoga in 2007 as a personal tool to manage anxiety, improve sleep, and cultivate a grounded movement and spiritual practice. What began as a lifeline quickly became a cornerstone of his mental health and life path. In 2013, Denis completed his foundational teacher training with Zenways, founded by Julian Daizan Skinner; the first Englishman to attain the title of Roshi in Japan’s rigorous Rinzai Zen tradition. Deeply rooted in Zen Buddhism, Denis learned to guide classes across a spectrum of paces and styles, with alignment, mindful awareness, and intelligent energy, while seamlessly weaving Zen meditation and wisdom into yoga practice. Since then, Denis has taught full-time across Yoga and Pilates studios, gyms, retreat centres, and online platforms. He has also delivered community yoga programmes for individuals affected by addiction, depression, anxiety, acquired brain injury, and other challenges. A passionate student of Yin Yoga, he trained extensively with Josh Summers; this slow, introspective practice profoundly influences both his Yin and flow classes, helping students access deep stillness, resilience, and inner quietude.

A qualified massage therapist since 2008, Denis brings a multi-dimensional, embodied understanding of anatomy, fascia, and holistic wellbeing to his teaching. In 2021 he opened The Den Yoga Studio, an intimate space limited to ten students where deep breathing, restorative work, and quiet presence offer a gentle rebellion against high-energy, performative wellness culture. Denis currently serves as Health & Wellbeing Lead for Autism Initiatives NI, continuing his commitment to supporting vulnerable communities. He is honoured to share his experience and guidance at the inaugural Wellfest NI this September.
